The student leadership at Walker Career Center is called the Walker Career Center Leadership Council.


In order to be a member of the WCC Leadership Council you must be nominated by the instructor of your Career Center program. Nominees that have exhibited excellence in attendance, grades, and discipline are accepted onto the council.


Meetings are held twice a month, usually on Thursdays, in room W301 after school.


The purpose of the committee is to: (1)promote the Walker Career Center to the community (2) provide leadership opportunities to the students of Walker Career Center and (3) provide a common forum for programs to come together in unity.


The activities of the leadership council vary from year to year but typically include promotional activites such as Career Fest, American Education Night at the Washington Square Mall, and providing tours for visitors to the career center. The committee also engages in community service activities such as fundraisers for charitable organizations, visiting nursing homes, and relay for life.
