April 12 Superintendent Update Graphic

April 12, 2023

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

We have some important announcements for the week of April 12th.

On Tuesday, April 25th, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM, MSD Warren will host a community forum to share how the proposed referendum impacts our schools and community. We will also have a live stream option for this forum. If you have questions or would like more information, please visit our Referendum Webpage or contact me at thanson@warren.k12.in.us or 317-869-4346. Earlier this week, Warren launched the MyStop App to assist our scholars and families with the arrival of their bus to and from school. The MyStop App will complement the ParentSquare communications that are sent out in the event of a late bus. Scholars are still required to report to their bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to their scheduled pick-up time. Please visit our Transportation MyStop website for additional details and instructions on getting started.

Also, this week, families should have received communication through ParentSquare reminding them to complete their online registration. Online Registration (OLR) is part of our ParentVUE parent portal, which gives parents and caregivers access to attendance, schedules, academic performance, and provides for easy communication with your child’s teachers. For more information and to complete the online registration, please visit our District registration page linked here

Next week, our scholars in grades 3 thru 8th will be taking the state assessment, ILEARN. ILEARN is an annual assessment that measures proficiency in reading, math, writing, social studies, and science, depending on the grade level. During this testing window, we encourage you to make sure your child is well-rested and arrives at school on time each day. A consistent routine can help your child be prepared for the day. We know that these tests do not tell the whole story about our scholars, but it is important that they try their best. Good luck to all of our scholars!

Over Spring Break, we transitioned to a new online food service payment system called MySchoolBucks. As you know, all MSD Warren scholars have access to free breakfast and lunch through our CEP program. MySchoolBucks is used for the purchase of a la carte items. Please note that if you have a balance in our old system, that has been transferred to your new account in MySchoolBucks. If you have more questions, please visit our food service portal website linked here

Thank you for your continued support and investment in our Warren scholars, staff, and schools.

Together…#WarrenWill grow our students.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
