Adult & Continuing Education Chronicles

Halloween Math
This week, students in Mr. Rose's and Mr. Shaw's classes practiced multiple math skills using pumpkins and candy.  Geometry skills included volume, area, and perimeter.  The students reviewed fractions, ratios, and percentages to further prepare for the HiSETⓇ or GEDⓇ exams. To extend the lesson, the students and teachers counted all the seeds in the different pumpkins to learn more about mean, median, and mode. When lessons come alive, students not only have fun, but they better retain the information.
New HSE Graduates
Congratulations to Sandjeste Guillaume, Logan Schutt, Kyra Davis, Dawn Dodd (not pictured), and Dale Vessey (not pictured) for earning their HSE.  Each of these students passed the five HiSETⓇ exams to achieve their goals.  Sandjeste stated, "Warren Adult Education came to me as a new way to my dreams, and I gratefully appreciate it.  Thanks for your help, Warren."  Logan said that earning his HSE "helped me prove people wrong and prove myself right."  Kyra said, "Warren encouraged me to keep trying on a test I couldn't pass, and everyone cheered me on to pass it."  Warren looks forward to celebrating with these students at the graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
