Adult & Continuing Education Chronicles

Classroom Instruction
Students attending Warren Adult and Continuing Education receive instruction in many ways. To meet the needs of all learners, the teachers provide whole-group, small-group, and individualized instruction. Skills are reviewed in engaging ways by playing games such as BINGO. Providing multiple instructional strategies allows students to be more successful.
New HSE Graduates
Congratulations to Serge Lamour, Christopher Dail, Carlos Beltran, and Kadryn Williams (not pictured) for achieving their High School Equivalency Diplomas. Serge reached his goal by passing the HiSETⓇ and GEDⓇ exams to earn a TotalTranscriptⓇ. Christopher and Kadryn both earned their HSE by passing all five HiSETⓇ exams. Carlos attends class at dormakaba, and he earned his HSE by passing the four GEDⓇ exams. “We may live in an age of instant messaging, instant gratification, and Instagram, but there is no way to short-circuit the path to success.” ~ Tory Burch

Dream Job Projects
Students in Ms. Deb's classroom completed projects centered around their dream occupations. The lesson began with the students learning vocabulary related to jobs and employment. Then, the students researched the duties of their chosen occupation, if a college degree is required, and the annual salary using Google. Once their research was complete, the students created posters showing what they had learned. The posters are now displayed in the hallway for other students to view. This activity was an engaging way to welcome back students after the winter break.
