Adult Education Day 2024
On Tuesday, the state of Indiana celebrated adult education at the 3rd Annual Adult Education Day. The event took place in the North Atrium at the Indiana Statehouse and highlighted Indiana as number one in the country in learner achievement. Partnerships around the state were recognized for providing classes to their employees, including Warren's partnership with H.T. Hackney. The student essay winners were recognized, too, and the first-place winner read his remarkable essay to the audience. This was the most attended Adult Education Day to date. What an uplifting day for all!
New HSE Graduates
Congratulations to Hunter Bates, Harry Jolicoeur, Travon Taylor, George Williams III, and Laurita Bullitt-Bennett (not pictured) for earning their HSEs. All five graduates have inspiring stories of overcoming barriers and reaching this achievement. Warren ACE is thrilled to celebrate with them and their families and friends at graduation in June.
Citizenship Presentation
Last week, Attorney Jim Gutting visited Highlander Park to speak to the students about citizenship. He explained how to become a United States citizen and was available to answer all of the students' questions. Three instructors, Ms. Debby Graves, Ms. Tammy Olicoeur, and Mr. Parra, translated the information into Spanish and Haitian Creole for better understanding.This is Mr. Gutting's second time presenting at Highlander Park, and Warren looks forward to hosting him again in the fall.
