Success Story
Jaulette Ludger began attending classes to improve her English skills in July 2023. She reached an NRS Level 6 in six months and began attending HSE classes. On March 18, 2024, Jaulette earned her HSE. Read her success story below.
"My name is Jaulette Ludger. I am from Haiti. I earned my high school diploma in 2011, my bachelor’s degree of science in nursing in 2016, and my registered nurse license in 2017 in Haiti. I came to the U.S.A. in 2018 while pregnant and gave birth to my lovely and only daughter, Rood Jael Louis. Five years later, in 2023, I decided to break down the fences in my way, to pursue my dream of working as a nurse. I started English classes at Highlander Park Adult Continuing Education in July 2023 and completed the program in December 2023. I did not stop. I was interested in earning a High School Equivalency Diploma and did it in March 2024.
At Highlander Park, I not only learned English, but I also learned to discover Indianapolis. I appreciated the chosen subjects for classroom presentations and projects as they are instructive in our everyday lives. I also like the organization of Burlington English. It is very helpful. Now I am working hard to earn my Registered Nurse License in the U.S.A. to help people in need of health care. After earning my license, I will go on to earn a master’s and a doctoral degree in nursing.
First, I say thank you to God for the guidance and ability he provides to me. Thank you to my dear friend for always motivating me to pursue the education path and helping me along the process. Thank you to my parents and sister for always asking me, “What have you decided to do with your life?” Thank you to my dear employer Amazon for leading me to take an English class and to my teacher Brenda Gaston. Her class was interesting and effective in teaching English. John Shaw pushed me to quickly understand how to better prepare myself for the GED test. I had to become more confident and I did it. Finally, thank you to all the staff who contribute to the operation of this establishment. You have been creating success stories and success paths."
