ABE Program Update
Warren Adult & Continuing Education is proud of the many successes that have occurred in the ABE program this school year. As of this week, almost 400 students have been enrolled in classes. The classes meet three to four times each week, and students have the option to either attend morning classes or evening classes. ABE classes are also held at RecycleForce, Fathers and Families, and in Hancock County at The Landing Place, Over 100 students have earned their High School Equivalency Diplomas this year making the program one of the top three programs in the state of Indiana.
GoT Program
In 2020, Warren Adult & Continuing Education along with Washington Township Adult Education started an HSE Pilot called Graduate on Time or GoT. The HSE Pilot creates a partnership between adult education programs and the high schools in the same district. Seniors in high school who are extremely credit deficient and not on track to graduate qualify for the HSE Pilot. These seniors attend classes to help them prepare for the HSE exam, and after passing the exam, enroll in a career training class or a post-secondary program. Due to the success of the HSE Pilot, additional adult education programs and high schools plan to offer the GoT Program in the next few years.
New Staff
The evening team at Highlander Park has grown over the past few weeks. Welcome to Keyla Gallardo, Gabby Alcantara, Jamarro Johnson, Nibedita Tucker, and McKenzie Jackson. Warren ACE is excited to add these five members to the team.
The MSD Warren Township hosted its annual Legislative Forum on January 28 at the Warren Education and Community Center. This yearly meeting provided an opportunity for elected officials who represent the Far Eastside to hear from the District and community on matters important to the corporation. Thank you for advocating for ALL Warren and Indiana students in this legislative session!
