The morning BY Construction Training program at Highlander Park recently concluded with a hiring fair, giving students the opportunity to connect face-to-face with local employers who are actively seeking skilled and dependable workers.
The hiring fair served as an important bridge between training and employment. Students were able to meet potential employers, learn about available career opportunities, make valuable professional connections, and take steps toward securing employment in the construction industry.
For these students, completing the training is only the beginning. The connections made during the hiring fair could lead to interviews, job offers, and the start of rewarding careers in construction.

The afternoon BY Construction class recently put their skills into action through hands-on training focused on building new outdoor benches! Students worked together to measure, assemble, and complete the benches while applying the construction skills they have developed throughout the course.
The finished benches were donated to Warren Adult and Continuing Education and will be added to the outdoor space for students, staff, and visitors to enjoy. The project gave students valuable real-world experience while also allowing them to leave a lasting contribution to the Warren ACE community!

Warren Adult and Continuing Education recently celebrated the graduation of its construction class at Highlander Park. Throughout the program, students combined classroom instruction with hands-on Work Experience (WEX) training, building valuable skills and gaining real-world experience.
The program concluded with an employer career fair, allowing graduates to connect directly with local employers and explore potential career opportunities in the construction industry.

Indiana kicked off 2026 Adult Education and Family Literacy Week with special recognition from Governor Mike Braun through a state proclamation highlighting the importance and impact of adult education and lifelong learning across Indiana!
Lara Pastore, Indiana State Adult Education Director, and Denise Esslinger, Assistant Director at Warren Adult and Continuing Education, received the Governor’s proclamation, marking the beginning of a week dedicated to celebrating adult learners and the educators, programs, and partners who support their success. Indiana continues to emphasize adult education as a pathway to education, workforce training, career opportunities, and stronger communities!

Student Testimonial: Anna first walked through the doors of Warren ACE on April 29th. With instruction from Rachel Hilligoss and John Shaw, she earned her HSE on August 10th! Congratulations. Anna!!
Preparing for the HiSETⓇ Math exam is more engaging when learning includes a little friendly competition. Students in Ms. Marcia's class recently practiced solving proportions by combining Kahoot! questions with a game of Jenga. Students raced to answer each Kahoot! question. The first student to answer correctly earned the opportunity to move a piece of the Jenga tower and carefully add it to the top without sending the tower tumbling!
The activity combined HiSETⓇ math preparation, problem-solving, and plenty of excitement while giving students extra practice with an important math skill. The activity turned HiSETⓇ math practice into an engaging challenge that kept students learning, thinking, and having fun along the way.
